Requirements
  • A bachelor's or master's degree from a top-tier college or university, or equivalent work experience of at least 2 years.
  • Demonstrated interest in or robust understanding of global and Australian business and economic developments and issues.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize activities effectively while managing multiple meetings and events simultaneously.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong copyediting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a rigorous, fast-moving work and team environment.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills in a business-focused setting.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and Word, and other database and technology tools.

Responsibilities
  • Ideate event topics individually and in collaboration with the Sydney client-facing team to appeal to Australian and Asia-Pacific business and institutional investors.
  • Craft content for event materials, including key discussion points and descriptive copy.
  • Source and liaise with appropriate event speakers from GLG's network of experts and, as necessary, from outside the network.
  • Host and moderate small-group events and panel discussions.
  • Plan and organize industry events from conceptualization through completion.
  • Provide team administrative support.
  • Assist in implementing marketing plans and promotional activities.
  • Lead internal teams engaged in multiple meeting and event projects.
  • Follow process standards and make decisions for event projects.
  • Manage speakers, internal teams, and client participation directly and in collaboration with internal partners.
  • Provide client-facing customer service.

GLG opens San Francisco office to expand tech, consulting and finance services

GLG, the world's leading expert network platform, has opened an office in San Francisco's Financial District at 595 Market Street. The expansion establishes dedicated service teams to support clients and experts across technology, consulting and finance sectors. The new hub strengthens GLG's West Coast presence after more than two decades of building relationships in the region. CEO Gemma Postlethwaite said the office positions GLG closer to tech innovation and enables continued growth for partners globally. Allica Bank achieves unicorn status with $141M Series D funding round

Allica Bank has achieved unicorn status after raising $155 million (£111 million) in a Series D funding round, valuing the small business lender at $1.2 billion. The round included investment from Dubai-based Ventura Capital, which also backs Uber, Spotify and Zilch. The challenger bank, named City AM's bank of the year in 2025, has capitalised on the gap left by traditional banks withdrawing from small business lending. Digital lenders now account for 60 per cent of the market, compared to just 10 per cent in 2019. Last year, Allica reported an 86 per cent increase in pre-tax profit to £29.9 million as lending activity surpassed £1 billion. The bank recently acquired London fintech Kriya and aims to reach £1 billion in working capital finance over the next three years.
