Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Control, or Electrical Engineering.
  • ADNOC Offshore approval or eligibility for approval.
  • Fifteen years of EPC oil and gas instrumentation and control experience.
  • At least five years of experience in ADNOC Offshore brownfield projects.
  • A strong background in compressor package control and automation integration.
  • Experience coordinating with vendors and original equipment manufacturers and participating in factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing.
  • Proven capability in design reviews and engineering subcontractor management.
  • Strong understanding of distributed control system, emergency shutdown system, fire and gas system, and process safety management/emergency control management architecture.
  • Expertise in control logic and instrument integration.
  • Fluency in signal mapping and loop-checking procedures.
  • Knowledge of ADNOC Offshore standards.
  • Awareness of brownfield simultaneous operations and permit-to-work protocols.
  • Working knowledge of ABB DCS 800xA, Rockwell ESD, GE Fanuc or Emerson F&G, PMS/ECMS monitoring systems, and PLC/SCADA compressor-package UCPs.
  • Working knowledge of SPI/SmartPlant Instrumentation, Aveva Instrument, Hexagon tools, AutoCAD, MicroStation, logic development and simulation tools, Excel-based signal-list and I/O management, ADNOC PMS/ECMS submission systems, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all instrumentation and control engineering activities for the IA/PA Upgrade Project.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC Offshore standards and integrate new compressor-package control systems with existing DCS, ESD, F&G, PMS, and ECMS systems.
  • Coordinate across Process, Electrical, and Mechanical disciplines through the engineering subcontractor and original equipment manufacturers.
  • Review FEED and EPC deliverables, including P&IDs, cause-and-effect matrices, instrument indexes, loop diagrams, and hook-ups.
  • Finalize instrument sizing, specifications, and installation details according to ADNOC standards.
  • Develop and validate control narratives and logic for IA/PA compressor operation and inter-platform coordination.
  • Review layout drawings for instrument location and accessibility on existing decks.
  • Integrate compressor UCP panels with existing ADNOC systems.
  • Define signal mapping and communication protocols, including Modbus RTU/TCP and Ethernet.
  • Validate duty/standby logic and automatic start/stop sequences across platforms.
  • Ensure reliable operation without disturbing other platform control networks.
  • Lead discipline reviews and approve instrumentation and control deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance on ADNOC standards and scope-of-work requirements.
  • Ensure timely submission of deliverables.
  • Monitor and close technical queries, requests for information, and action items from design reviews.
  • Liaise with original equipment manufacturers and vendors for compressor, dryer, and control systems.
  • Review vendor datasheets, I/O lists, control logic, and alarm philosophy.
  • Participate in FAT, IFAT, and SAT and verify signal testing and interlocks.
  • Coordinate integration between vendor UCPs and ADNOC Offshore automation systems.
  • Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and PHSER workshops.
  • Implement process safety instrumented functions and verify SIL levels.
  • Confirm alarm priorities, trip settings, and shutdown logic align with Operations.
  • Review instrument installation details for tie-ins to live systems.
  • Prepare and review method statements for instrument replacement and cabling works.
  • Support loop checking, function testing, and cause-and-effect testing during commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC PTW and SIMOPS procedures.
  • Maintain instrument interface registers and system interconnection diagrams.
  • Coordinate with Process, Electrical, and Mechanical disciplines for consistent signal and tie-in data.
  • Ensure smooth handover of as-built instrumentation and control documents and asset-register updates.
  • Produce or maintain updated instrument indexes and datasheets, control logic diagrams and cause-and-effect matrices, vendor-package integration reports, FAT/SAT and loop-check records, as-built instrumentation drawings and signal lists, and interface and tie-in registers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Functional Safety (SIL) and Hazard Study training is preferred.
  • PMP or equivalent certification is advantageous.
