Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience User Experience research, performing both qualitative and quantitative studies required
- Experience working in the healthcare field and/or enterprise software applications strongly preferred
- Ability to work eastern or central business hours and travel domestically 10-15% (1-2x per quarter for client onsites, team building events, training, etc.) required
- Holds a B.S. and/or M.S. degree in Interaction Design, User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human-Centered Computing (HCC), Cognitive/Experimental Psychology, or other relevant programs
- Experience using user research tools and methods including - but not limited to - card sorting, tree testing, surveys, user interviews, affinity diagramming, persona and journey map development, usability testing, eye tracking, and workshops
- Fluency in best practices for information architecture and interaction design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles
- A relevant portfolio of work illustrating user-centered research and design solutions (e.g. usability test deliverables, personas, journey maps, task flows, mind maps, and other artifacts communicating insights)
- Experience using user research tools such as UserTesting, Survey Monkey, or Optimal Workshop, collaboration tools such as FigJam / Miro / Mural, and research repositories
- Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Figma / Sketch, prototyping tools such as Invision
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and problem solving / analytical skills
- Collaborative and an advocate for UX
Responsibilities
- Support the user research needs of our product teams during the design and development of our healthcare web and mobile software products
- Conduct foundational research to better understand the needs of our customers including contextual inquiries, user interviews, and surveys
- Collaborate with UX designers to create research plans for collecting user feedback in order to enhance the user experience of our products
- Conduct summative research to evaluate the usability of the products we deliver against a predetermined benchmark and identify opportunities to make future enhancements
- Utilize behavioral analytics tools to understand typical user behaviors and workflows within our software platform
- Partner with product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders on product strategy based on user research data
- Contribute to the evolution of design principles, guidelines, patterns, and a repository of research insights
- Encourage the use of reusable, repeatable research methodologies and activities that can be emulated across the larger product team
- Collaborate with and inspire others on the UX team, keeping up with the industry evolution including best practices, research methods, new trends and tools
- Communicate best practices for research and reasoning behind UX decisions to key stakeholders
- Facilitate workshops that bring teams together to uncover requirements, ideate solutions and integrate insights
