Responsibilities
  • Create and plan menus in accordance with the location's style and customer preferences.
  • Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure high-quality dishes while monitoring wastage and portion control.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise colleagues, including chefs, cooks, and front-of-house staff.
  • Provide continual guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to the kitchen team.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels and order supplies appropriately.
  • Interact with customers to understand catering needs and preferences and address concerns or requirements.
  • Seek customer feedback to support service success.
  • Support the head chef in ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations and food safety protocols and policies.
  • Create a workplace environment with safety embedded in its culture.
  • Develop and manage kitchen budgets, report on financial performance, and implement cost savings without affecting service delivery.
  • Stay updated on culinary trends and incorporate new ideas into menus.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, orders, and food preparation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
