Requirements
  • Master’s degree in education or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in teacher education, preferably with administrative leadership in educator preparation or teacher certification programs.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and PK-12 school communities.
  • Prior experience with program accreditation, program review, and data management systems.
  • Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.
  • All employees share the responsibility of maintaining information security and privacy requirements within the university by adhering to Federal and State regulations, and TWU Policies & Procedures.
  • Knowledge of the Texas Administrative Code (TAC), TEA educator preparation standards, compliance regulations, and accreditation processes
  • Knowledge of university programs, policies, and practices
  • Ability to attend meetings, workshops, and trainings to keep abreast of university and function changes
  • Ability to interpret data from educator preparation dashboards
  • Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities
  • Ability to demonstrate compliance with rules, regulations, and legislation from governing bodies including but not limited to the Texas Education Agency, State Board for Educator Certification, and the State Board of Education
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public
  • Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment, including university software and email
Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight of the implementation and evaluation of educator preparation programs across the university
  • Ensure full compliance with state and national standards for educator preparation
  • Oversee preparation and submission of accreditation reports, data reports, and program reviews
  • Communicate with program coordinators and division heads for all initial and professional certification programs regarding required standards and program elements
  • Oversee EPP admission, testing, clinical practice placements, and certification
  • Coordinate and support program assessment systems to ensure continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making
  • Collaborate with faculty, department leadership, and college leadership to align programs with state standards and district needs
  • Serve as member of the Council for Educator Preparation (CEP) and provide regular updates to the constituents regarding policies and requirements for educator preparation
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with PK-12 school districts for clinical placements, residencies, and collaborative initiatives
  • Monitor certification testing data and program completion success rates to inform program enhancements
  • Stay current with legislative policy and best practice developments in teacher education
  • Performs other duties as requested.
