Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Energy, Environmental, Building Sciences, or a related discipline, or one year of related experience substituted for each year of education.
  • At least one year of experience in utility, energy efficiency, HVAC, weatherization, or a related area is preferred in the minimum-qualifications section.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • BPI Building Analyst Technician and Building Analyst Professional certifications, or willingness to obtain them within 90 days.
  • A valid driver's license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records check, background check, and drug screening.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and with internal staff, outside clients, and vendors.
  • Sound business ethics, including protection of proprietary and confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate quality assurance activities, including post-field inspections, work-in-progress observations, and safety observations at residential properties.
  • Assist with developing and implementing quality assurance and quality control plans and procedures.
  • Conduct quality assurance investigations of non-conforming program contractors.
  • Coordinate corrective actions and maintain quality assurance records using Sightline.
  • Perform installation inspections, energy-savings calculations, HVAC system assessments, and operations and maintenance assessments.
  • Interact with homeowners, contractors, builders, raters, representatives, and other key stakeholders.
  • Complete inspection reports, coordinate with utility quality assurance and quality control teams, and facilitate communication with contractors.
  • Travel locally throughout New Jersey for field inspections, using a reliable vehicle.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience performing energy audits and quality assurance inspections in residential customer homes.
  • BPI Analyst or HERS Rater certification.
  • Knowledge of energy-efficient technologies and practices related to weatherization, HVAC systems, smart thermostats, and other residential building-energy technologies.
  • Knowledge of Blower Door testing and Combustion Safety Testing.
  • Experience with HVAC system assessment, operations, and maintenance.
  • Prior experience delivering and developing technical training for subcontractors.
  • In-person customer service experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
