Requirements
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work.
  • A valid Ohio Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor license.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and their families.
  • Sensitivity in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and the ability to work with diverse groups of people possessing various strengths, aptitudes, and abilities.
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using agency computer systems and software required to perform essential job functions.
  • Practical and creative problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
  • Provide supportive supervision to mentors, mentees, guardians, and contract agencies, as appropriate, to help maintain the integrity of mentoring matches through the entire match life cycle, including interview, training, introduction, supervision, assessment, and closure.
  • Remain in compliance with mentoring program standards, including specified documents, policies, practices, procedures, and materials.
  • Complete administrative activities required for the role, including record keeping, supervision, attending staff meetings, monthly group and individual meetings with mentors, other agency meetings and functions, staffing of a volunteer committee, and attending agency events and outings.
  • Serve as a resource person and advocate to Bellefaire JCB and other appropriate community services.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and program standards.

Bellefaire JCB receives $522K grant to fight youth violence

The Semi J. and Ruth W. Begun Foundation, a supporting foundation of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, recently awarded a $522,000 grant to Bellefaire JCB to create the Begun Center for Youth and Family Resiliency, which aims to reduce youth violence through social skills education and conflict resolution training, according to a news release.
