Are you a hands-on software engineer with a deep understanding of systems and technologies which those systems are built upon?
We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Development Engineer to lead, guide, and work with multiple development teams at our studio in Toronto, Canada. In this role you will support teams working on different products, domains, and technologies to ensure that architectural design is adhered to, quality software is produced, and timely market delivery is achieved.
What you’ll do
- Become a technical resource across multiple teams.
- Define, architect, develop, and debug features and cross-game functionality in Unity and C#
- Lead initiatives to improve product performance and scaling for a project.
- Advocate for improvements in testing techniques and drive adoption across multiple domains.
- Plan and implement critical and technically complex systems on a project.
- Partner with collaborators to coordinate the work involved in a project’s most complicated systems.
- Share knowledge across a team and with studio leadership.
- Mentor and guide team members to improve quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
What you’ll bring
- M.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education / work experience.
- 7+ years of commercial game or mobile app development experience.
- 5+ years of development experience with Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Strong programming skills with C#
- Good understanding of mobile platforms and hardware.
- Experience with integrating backend services into mobile games.
- Experience with profiling, and performance optimizations.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
