  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a PE license is highly preferred
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of professional experience in Renewable Energy, with a primary focus on utility-scale Solar PV and BESS facilities
  • Experience with energy storage in both utility-scale and/or large industrial facilities, including battery technology/chemistry selection, battery sizing, one-line development, site layout, inverter selection, cable ampacity calculations, grounding, protective relaying, and associated systems design and construction administration
  • Proficiency in Solar PV modeling software and other relevant technical tools
  • Familiarity with utility-scale solar project designs, including single-line diagrams, civil, structural, and electrical site plans, DC and AC wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts; understanding construction applications of solar power plant design, including PV string sizing, DC and AC conductor/conduit sizing, and racking/tracker layout and power distribution
  • Strong strategic planning and business development skills, including experience in annual business planning and driving revenue growth
  • Proven experience managing and developing large teams, with a passion for talent development, mentorship, and collaboration with recruiting
Responsibilities
  • Oversee and lead the engineering design and modeling of utility-scale, ground-mounted Solar PV and BESS projects with a focus on optimizing performance, driving cost efficiency, and maximizing project profitability
  • Direct the development and review of engineering drawings, site layouts, and electrical schematics using industry-standard tools such as AutoCAD, PVCase, and PVSyst to support grid interconnection, permitting, and early-stage feasibility
  • Manage and refine internal design workflows while serving as a primary technical liaison for client-facing coordination, leading high-level internal and external project meetings
  • Review and approve complex construction documents, ensuring technical accuracy, alignment with contractual requirements, and adherence to industry best practices and applicable codes
  • Provide strategic technical oversight during pre-construction and early execution phases, partnering cross-functionally with permitting, procurement, development, and finance teams to align engineering decisions with project goals
  • Remain at the forefront of emerging solar and BESS technologies, regulatory changes, and industry design methodologies to inform organizational strategy and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Contribute to high-level technical reports, due diligence reviews, and feasibility assessments for internal executive teams and external stakeholders, including investors and regulatory bodies
  • Mentor, develop, and grow multidisciplinary engineering and design teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and operational consistency across all renewable energy projects
