Requirements
  • A valid New York State Professional Engineer’s License
  • Four years of full-time experience in mechanical engineering
  • A master’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college will be accepted as equivalent to one year of the full-time experience in mechanical engineering
  • At least one year within the last three years of experience as a major contributor or a project leader on a complex project (for Assignment Levels II and III)
Responsibilities
  • Develop specifications, scopes, project profiles, designs, estimates, providing technical field support and technical reports for the Division of Facilities
  • Preparation, review and comment on contract documents, coordinate and liaising with DOS, MTA C&D, internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of project management (RFI’s, AWO’s, inspections, testing, submittals, O&M manuals, training, warranty claims, invoices etc.)
  • Review drawings, project documentation and monitor project status
  • Identify project issues and risks and ensure timely resolution and mitigation. Recommend solutions to management for the resolution of critical issues
  • Work on projects to support Division and/or unit data analysis request
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the implementation of the design and construction of In-House projects of moderate size and complexity
  • Assist in developing report and dashboards using Power BI or other reporting tools

  • Excellent decision-making, written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate with personnel at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to work and deliver under demanding timelines
  • Strong understanding of engineering systems
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio and other data visualization tools (Microsoft Power BI/Tableau)
