Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Knowledge of endoscopy reprocessing and high-level disinfection standards is required.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently and perform patient-care activities.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds, occasionally up to 40 pounds, and rarely up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment with patients of varying ages.
  • Ability to work around bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards consistent with the surgical setting.
Responsibilities
  • Perform cleaning, inspection, and high-level disinfection of endoscopic instruments and equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of reprocessing equipment and proper use within the processing area.
  • Use, monitor, and document chemical disinfectants according to policy and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Follow established protocols for decontaminating, cleaning, flushing, and disinfecting endoscopic equipment.
  • Inspect instruments and equipment for functionality and integrity.
  • Track loaned instruments and equipment to ensure completeness and timely return.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to reprocessing and chemical monitoring.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of endoscopy supplies and equipment.
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Prior healthcare, endoscopy, or sterile processing experience is preferred.

Compass Surgical Partners, Baptist Health and Coastal Health have partnered with local physicians to operate Middleburg Surgery Center in Jacksonville, Florida. The partnership has acquired a 5,500-square-foot facility with two operating rooms, accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Located near Baptist Medical Center Clay in southeast Jacksonville, the multispecialty ambulatory surgery centre supports procedures in orthopaedics, urology, otolaryngology, pain management and general surgery. With 15 physician partners committed to the centre, the partnership is evaluating expansion opportunities to meet growing demand. Compass Surgical Partners is an independent ambulatory surgery centre development and management company that partners with physicians and health systems to develop and operate outpatient surgical networks.
