Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have a valid California driver's license.
  • Must be able to wear company-provided personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at least once per day.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and cost-control activities, including operation and maintenance of scheduling, cost-control, and reporting systems under the supervision of an employee in a higher classification.
  • Assist Senior Field Engineering Technicians and Field Engineers.
  • Maintain schedule and cost-control files.
  • Perform schedule and cost-data indexing and coding activities under supervision.
  • Verify schedule and cost-input information and use the computer to edit schedule and cost information under supervision.
  • Check and correct completed schedule and cost reports and prepare and distribute reports as necessary.
  • Initiate licenses and permits.
  • Order and receive material.
  • Perform technical work associated with construction activities, including cost estimating and simple drafting.
  • Prepare and correct field drawings.
  • Perform contract-management and purchase-order activities.
  • Prepare construction notes.
  • Perform operations, maintenance, and emergency duties for the Department of Transportation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Additional consideration may be given to candidates who reside within 50 miles of the headquarters.
  • Experience in contract management.
  • Experience in construction or construction management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather extremes.
  • Ability to drive safely in all weather and road conditions.
  • Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel and transfer to a new headquarters upon request at any time throughout the PG&E service territory, with no guarantees as to how long the candidate will be away from home.
