Responsibilities
  • Operating as the lead financial business partner for the corporate lines of business (R&D, G&A).
  • Adding insight into new opportunities, strategies, and recommendations to enhance growth and value across the company.
  • Aid in development of both short-term and long-term outlook / business plans.
  • Assist in completing comprehensive forecasting and trend analysis.
  • Assist in the development of performance indicators and highlighting trends for the business leaders.
  • Execute complex analyses to link operational performance to financial results.
  • Providing ‘the narrative’ on results delivery to business leaders.
  • Investigating and explaining material discrepancies to prior year, budget and forecast.
  • Owning the overall budgeting process and reporting for the area’s of responsibility listed above.
  • Managing the execution of timely, accurate, and meaningful ad hoc reports on various financial and operational results as deemed necessary by the manager.
  • Planning and supporting the delivery of working capital and cash flow objectives.
  • Development and analysis of investment ROI models and capital allocation decision-making.
  • Potentially assist with M&A / integration processes and/or various other special projects.
  • Performing supervisory functions by communicating job expectations planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Coaching/counseling a team of 2-4.
  • Identifying and developing key staff to eventually assume greater responsibility and growth within the company.
  • Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Approving direct reports time sheets, requests for time off and/or overtime, if applicable.
  • Performing timely performance evaluations of direct reports, if applicable.
  • Coordinating and conducting new hire interviews; facilitating hiring decision.
  • Training new hires on departmental processes and responsibilities.
  • Working with upper management in the continued development, coordination and implementation of support functions, processes, training program and evaluation of same.
