Requirements
  • A strong motivation to learn a mechanical service career path.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • The ability to occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds.
  • The ability to work with tools on vehicles lifted above the technician's head.
  • The ability to work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle's needed repair.
  • The dexterity to efficiently use hand tools.
  • The ability to walk and stand for the majority of the workday.
  • The ability to drive manual-transmission vehicles.
  • The ability to maintain a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment.
  • The ability to efficiently navigate a computer.
Responsibilities
  • Work side by side with a certified Automotive Technician to learn repairs involving engines, steering and suspension, automotive heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems, and other vehicle systems.
  • Build experience and skills as an automotive mechanic across a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles.
  • Perform state inspections.
  • Perform routine maintenance procedures, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid flushes.
  • Perform honest, clear, and complete multi-point vehicle inspections for customers.
  • Work as part of a team to solve technical problems quickly and effectively.
  • Use automotive service skills to prepare vehicles for customers and ensure they are safe and reliable.
  • Follow and promote standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Work with other technicians to solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver results.
Desired Qualifications
  • Attendance in an Automotive Program or recent graduation.
  • Some knowledge and experience repairing vehicles.
  • A high level of interest, willingness to learn, and openness to new ideas.
  • Good communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • A self-motivated approach and positive attitude.
