Requirements
  • An associate degree from an AVMA-accredited institution and expected New York State licensure within three months.
  • Up to one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and observational skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge.
Responsibilities
  • Triage emergencies and initiate stabilization and treatments.
  • Manage the care of all patients, including critically ill patients.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations and medical procedures using bloodwork, ultrasound, endoscopy, radiographs, critical care monitoring, and other state-of-the-art equipment and techniques.
  • Contribute to the education of veterinary students, interns, and residents.
  • Provide patient care for large animals, including horses, cows, sheep, goats, alpacas, llamas, pigs, reindeer, and camels.
  • Work assigned daytime, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts.
