Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Minimum three years of experience working with wellness.
  • Minimum of six months of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • At least one year of customer service or public relations experience.
  • A basic understanding of healthy living and helping others reach goals.
  • Active participation in a healthy lifestyle.
  • Detail orientation, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to be efficient and productive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiasm and strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with people and maintain a friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Strong communication, listening, and computer skills.
  • CPR/First Aid, bloodborne pathogen, and child abuse prevention training within the first 30 days of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day operational supervision to the Wellness staff team.
  • Schedule the staff team.
  • Assist the manager in training part-time staff members as directed.
  • Provide leadership for daily activities.
  • Guide staff in responding appropriately to member questions and concerns.
  • Provide exemplary customer service.
  • Enforce YMCA and Wellness Department rules and policies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, fully stocked, and well-organized work area.
  • Give facility tours and orientations to new or prospective members as needed.
  • Actively promote the Y, memberships, programs, services, lessons, promotions, and available discounts.
  • Provide accurate, appropriate, and immediate responses to member and guest requests.
  • Provide detailed descriptions of Y memberships, programs, services, facility features, and operating hours.
  • Adhere to policies concerning boundaries with consumers.
  • Attend and complete required abuse risk management training.
  • Follow procedures for managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
  • Follow mandated reporting requirements.
