Requirements
  • Previous experience and/or exposure working in a manufacturing environment or technical position. (Exposure to or familiarity with the principles of non-destructive testing highly desired.)
  • The ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions accurately, including reading and interpretation of shop drawings.
  • Previous experience in the use of overhead cranes.
  • Shown a previous ability to successfully pass skill level tests in other trades or disciplines.
  • High school or technical school graduate or equivalent.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and standard software programs.
  • Previous experience and/or the ability to perform mathematical operations, including working with decimals, fractions, and basic shop math.
  • Previous experience or familiarity with measuring gages such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
  • Ability to communicate and work in a team environment.
Responsibilities
  • Complete the on-the-job training program and NAS410 certification.
  • Learn industry standards and regulations, materials processed, multiple methods of processing, safety policies, proper documentation and demonstrate appropriate communication with team members, supervisors, and trainers.
  • Process parts, document results and perform equipment standardization in accordance with approved work instructions.
  • Prepare parts before or after inspection in accordance with approved work instructions.
  • Part processing includes fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI).
  • Conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standards.
  • Receive guidance or supervision from a certified Level II or Level III in various processing methods when necessary.
