2021 was a year of tremendous growth for us and in 2022 we are kicking into overdrive. We’re looking for software engineers in data to help us scale our data architecture, including our ingestion, pipeline, and storage services.

What you’ll do:

• Design and build data processing systems using technologies such as Python, SQL and AWS
• Optimize the performance of existing systems to handle increasing scale 
• Build tooling that provides visibility of our data platform for internal stakeholders 
• Provide technical expertise within your team and across the organization
• Communicate effectively about project status and technical issues
• Participate in your team’s agile process and work to continually improve your team’s capabilities
• Provide support for production operations of the Jellyfish product
• Actively participate in a culture supportive of growth and inclusion on your team

About you:

• You have 3+ years of professional software experience
• You are a strong programmer and problem solver
• You have hands-on experience building and running scalable data systems
• You are skilled with data-centric software development and data storage technologies  
• You are great at asking questions, figuring out what needs to be done, building support, and executing
• You love learning new things and teaching others what you know
• You have strong communication skills
• You understand and appreciate that relationships are at the heart of collaboration and innovation

Bonus points if:

• You bring strong skills with our technology stack (Python, Prefect, Dask, Django, Postgres, AWS, Terraform, Circle CI, Honeycomb)
• You have worked in a startup before, and loved it
• You bring experience and opinions about the different ways engineering teams can work and the tools they use
