  • A Master's Degree in Education is required.
  • A current and valid Principal and/or Administrator License/Certification (K-12) is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of principal or superintendent experience is required, or Special Education certification.

  • Applicants must attach unofficial transcripts for applicable conferred graduate degrees and a current and valid Principal and/or Administrator License/Certification (K-12).
Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with the cooperating school.
  • Verify the attendance and placement of the Principal Candidate in an appropriate setting.
  • Complete two formal observations of the Principal Candidate, one at the end of the first eight weeks and another at the end of the sixteen weeks.
  • Analyze and critique each observation immediately afterward, identifying specific strengths and refinements through professional oral and written expression.
  • Collaborate with the Cooperating Principal to complete the Principal Candidate Midterm and Final Evaluation forms.
  • Act as a counselor to the Principal Candidate by providing individual conference time after each observation.
  • Communicate effectively with the Cooperating Principal, Principal Candidate, and Office of Field Experience.
  • Provide additional sources of information to the Principal Candidate and remain available by phone or email to cooperatively derive workable solutions when difficulties arise.
  • Maintain adequate records on the Principal Candidate.
  • Remain knowledgeable about the assessment instrument and accurate evaluation procedures, allowing sufficient time for observation and assessment.
  • As an in-state point of contact or Program Coordinator when needed, communicate and coordinate with districts and school sites regarding placements and complete limited in-person responsibilities supporting program operations and stakeholder engagement.
