- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience in related roles.
- Five years of software testing experience, including regression, integration, load, and performance testing.
- Experience writing black-box and graphical user interface test cases, designing risk-mitigating tests, and helping business experts define requirements.
- Experience with context-based, exploratory, or scenario testing.
- Experience testing web services.
- Extensive backend testing experience, including data mapping, extract, transform, and load processes, and writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Experience with enterprise systems and knowledge of the education system.
- At least one year of experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript, open-source test tools such as Fit, FitNesse, Canoo WebTest, or HtmlUnit, commercial test-tool scripting languages, or programming in any language.
- Knowledge of TFS, Microsoft Test, and test automation is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with programmers and business experts.
- Ability to work as part of a self-directed team and coordinate daily tasks with coworkers.
- Ability to use discretion and make sound decisions.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and distributed team environment.
- Develop, execute, and implement test plans, test cases, and test scripts for applications built on a .NET application platform.
- Analyze test cases and business requirement documents to become a subject matter expert.
- Write, publish, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Critically evaluate applications for potential testing scenarios.
- Publish and communicate test results and test plan statuses using established processes.
- Work closely and collaboratively with development, product management, and operations teams.
- Participate in functional, regression, user acceptance, and load testing.
- Provide resource estimates, analysis, and planning for test efforts.
- Coordinate with the Network Services team to ensure required test platforms are available.
- Review processes for compliance.
- Design and maintain project test data.
- Participate in software design discussions, reviews, and test strategy sessions.
- Integrate test specifications into design specifications.
- Establish test metrics as required by quality assurance standards.
- Ensure builds in various environments meet documented and apparent business needs and user requirements.
- Install, configure, and use tools to automate functional testing.
- Perform other assigned duties described in the job summary or reasonably apparent from the role.
