Requirements
  • A high school diploma and two years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions are required.
  • Professional full-time work experience in admissions, computer science, technology, higher education, or a related field is required.
  • Experience operating a personal computer and proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, are required.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
  • Experience operating personal computers with proficiency and learning new applications and systems is required.
  • The ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and reports is required.
  • The ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies, and procedures consistently is required.
  • The ability to analyze and solve problems, draw valid conclusions, and/or develop appropriate alternatives where applicable is required.
  • The ability to work occasional evenings and weekends is required.
Responsibilities
  • Collect, review, and verify student admission applications, domestic and foreign transcripts, and other related forms for admission to ensure authenticity and compliance with university policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.
  • Process transcripts, test scores, residency, articulations, program changes, and deferrals in admissions modules and maintain accurate systems databases in compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Verify and ensure that graduate admissions program requirements are met using established policies and standards, and perform credential evaluations.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and assistance to applicants, students, the university community, and the general public regarding admissions and application processes.
  • Collaborate with faculty and departments across campus to maintain applicant admission files and assist with interpreting FGCU and General Graduate Academic Policy Regulations to ensure program and university requirements are met.
  • Create, maintain, and manage files, records, and other data in the student record system and admissions modules.
  • Respond to inquiries by phone, email, and text to provide customer service to prospective and current students.
  • Maintain a secure and confidential environment for student records and other data.
  • Assist the department with special projects, including external partnerships with businesses, systems testing, and database maintenance of admissions modules.
  • Foster and maintain professional relationships with academic departments, faculty members, and external stakeholders.
  • Compose non-routine correspondence.
  • Provide auxiliary support for recruitment events.
  • Assist with training new staff and/or student employees for specialized functions.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in a higher education setting is preferred.
  • Experience with Banner Student Information Systems, Technosolutions Slate, and/or Workday is preferred.
