Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a construction management role involving estimating, operations, and/or engineering.
  • A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, a related major, or equivalent qualification is required.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification is required.
  • Working knowledge of contract administration systems, job cost management, change order management, labor and equipment reporting, planning and scheduling, preconstruction planning, safety policies and procedures, and safe work procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Project Team to plan and support completion of assigned construction engineering projects and keep plans moving toward anticipated deadlines.
  • Work with the Project Manager and Superintendent to develop effective construction plans and schedules and determine the means and methods needed to meet project goals.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical information and disseminate them to the Project Team, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design details.
  • Identify, order, and coordinate delivery of permanent materials, including pipe, stone, reinforcing steel, and beams.
  • Coordinate with the Project Team and Purchasing Department to finalize required purchase orders and subcontracts in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Manage the request for information and submittal process, including establishing and maintaining project control logs in CMiC.
  • Process owner billings and project-related accounting tasks.
  • Assist the Project Manager with developing change orders and related documentation.
  • Monitor all work, including subcontractors, for safety compliance with the Safety Manager.
  • Maintain project safety files and review the project schedule for activities requiring special safety measures.
  • Conduct all work in accordance with Allan Myers policies, procedures, and programs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Heavy civil construction experience is preferred.
  • Continuing education in construction is highly desirable.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering certification is preferred.
