Requirements
  • Current state license as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Eligible for State Controlled Substance License II through V.
  • Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.
  • BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • Other certification as required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP).
  • 1-year clinical APP ICU experience required.
  • A Physician Assistant that has completed a critical care fellowship or a Nurse Practitioner with acute care certification is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and promotion of health and prevention of disease;
  • Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, correction, and consultation;
  • Procedures as outlined by specialty, and referral for health problems;
  • Education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others;
  • Prescription or administration of prescription drugs or devices in accordance with a consultation and referral plan;
  • Consultation with other healthcare providers;
  • Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care;
  • Continually learning and developing for optimal patient care and outcomes.
  • Participate in research, utilize evidence-based practice to improve quality patient care, protocol development, care process model development, and best practice standards for assigned patient population throughout our organization.
