Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of prior real estate experience in a management role, including underwriting, due diligence, and asset management experience, is required.
  • Strong understanding of multiple property types, including office, retail, hospitality, multifamily, and industrial properties.
  • Advanced knowledge and application of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to read and comprehend legal documents, including loan agreements, title reports, purchase and sale agreements, and commercial real estate leases.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, time management, negotiation, analytical, comprehension, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines and maintaining high accuracy.
  • Out-of-state travel is required.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and develop relationships with outside parties such as attorneys, brokers, consultants, receivers, contractors, and engineers to execute asset management and disposition objectives.
  • Review and provide value-added asset management and disposition strategies for the assigned portfolio.
  • Understand the life cycle, nuances, and restrictions of the Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities process as they relate to Real Estate Mortgage Investment Conduits and Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities real estate owned properties.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of Asset Managers and Analysts.
  • Monitor budgets and projected sales and leasing activity for the assigned portfolio.
  • Act as a conduit between Loan Workout and Real Estate Asset Management, and monitor the Real Estate Owned pipeline for timing, valuation, due diligence, and credit bid strategy.
  • Manage underwriting assignments and site visits, and provide feedback on Asset Manager valuations and market commentary for new underwritings.
  • Manage the assigned portfolio of properties.
  • Work occasional evenings or weekends when necessary to meet deadlines.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree is preferred.
  • A degree in real estate or finance is preferred.
  • Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Argus or Val is strongly preferred.
