Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physician Assistant.
  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support certification must be current and complete before the start date.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification must be current and complete before the start date.
  • If applicable, Department of Health and Environmental Control and Drug Enforcement Administration license applications must be started before the first day.
  • Ability to perform the listed physical requirements, including standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, reaching, repetitive motions, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to maintain corrected 20/40 vision, recognize objects at close and distant range, and work indoors in a latex-safe environment.
Responsibilities
  • Work weekday night shifts in the Summey Medical Pavilion.
  • Provide care for post-surgical pediatric and adult patients.
  • Serve as the primary provider alongside two Registered Nurses and a Patient Care Technician.
  • Assess post-surgical complications and provide intervention or treatment as needed.
  • Complete postoperative day-one discharge orders.
Desired Qualifications
  • Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification for acutely ill or injured, potentially unstable, or technologically dependent adult patients.
  • Experience in an adult post-anesthesia care unit, intensive care unit, emergency department, surgical or trauma step-down unit, procedural recovery area, or another high-acuity setting involving airway management, hemodynamic stabilization, and postoperative care.
