Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in safety coordination or related roles within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations and industry-specific safety standards.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections and implementing corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and communicate safety protocols to employees and contractors.
  • Proven ability to analyze incidents and develop preventive measures.
  • Detail-oriented organization and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and push or pull up to 50 pounds without difficulty.
  • Ability to climb in and out of equipment, up ladders and stairs, and walk across uneven terrain and surfaces.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to drive to project sites using company vehicles.
  • For the EHS Manager track, a minimum of 7 years of experience managing EHS programs in industrial, construction, maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or similar general construction companies.
  • For the EHS Manager track, at least one year of management and oversight experience for direct reports and/or management training.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish capability.
Responsibilities
  • Support project success by providing effective environmental, health, and safety services.
  • Create, improve, and comply with site-specific environmental, health, and safety plans.
  • Integrate into the project team and provide mentorship and leadership.
  • Assist EHS Coordinators, project teams, and project leadership with incident investigations, corrective actions, EHS program improvements, and final reports.
  • Independently conduct all required safety and health tasks for the customer and project environment.
  • Provide safety and health technical support and training to project managers and field employees.
  • Evaluate field safety and health practices, including emergency response procedures, for effectiveness and compliance.
  • Conduct documented audits and inspections of assigned projects, areas, and work tasks.
  • Communicate project conditions and concerns to EHS Managers and Project Managers.
  • Perform air sampling and monitoring, data logging, and basic industrial hygiene tasks.
  • Determine effective work schedules and independently conduct safety and health tasks required by ITAC’s EHS policy, customer project requirements, and site-specific EHS plans.
  • Perform detailed incident investigations and produce incident reports.
  • Provide EHS technical support and training to EHS Coordinators, project managers, and field employees.
  • Evaluate field safety and health practices to identify weaknesses and potential gaps.
  • Perform detailed equipment, location, and tool inspections and ensure completion as needed.
  • Report trends and recurring deficiencies identified through leading indicators to the EHS Director.
  • Recommend air-monitoring and specialty devices, perform air sampling and monitoring, maintain data logs, and perform basic industrial hygiene tasks.
  • Develop training materials and deliver training and instruction in various meeting settings.
  • Evaluate ITAC’s EHS Program in assigned areas and ensure effective implementation.

  • OSHA-level courses related to construction and industrial subjects.
  • EM 385-1-1-related courses.
  • MSHA-related courses.
  • Certified Safety and Health Technician certification.
  • Certified Safety Professional certification.
  • Other EHS-related management certifications.
