Requirements
  • A Ph.D. in physics, electrical engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated experience fabricating two-dimensional-material-based nanodevices using exfoliation, transfer, optical lithography, and electrical beam lithography is required, with strong command of electrical beam lithography.
  • Experience with low-noise electrical transport measurements at room and low temperatures and knowledge of related device physics are required.
  • Experience investigating novel physics using tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, conductive atomic force microscopy, and related scanning probe microscopy techniques is required.
  • A strong publication record in high-quality journals, including several first-author papers, is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • The candidate must be able to pursue challenging problems independently and collaboratively.
  • The candidate must work safely and independently within a supportive group setting.
  • The candidate must ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and health program requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and contribute to independent and collaborative research projects involving synthesis through exfoliation and transfer, device fabrication, and investigation of electronic, vibrational, and other exotic properties of two-dimensional and quantum materials.
  • Lead the writing of research articles resulting from the work and publish them in scientific journals.
  • Present research results at scientific conferences.
  • Work with graduate and undergraduate students and provide peer mentoring.
  • Co-lead projects with students.
  • Collaborate with researchers at the University of Central Florida and the PREM Center for Quantum Materials Innovation and Education Excellence.
  • Help maintain laboratory space and equipment.
