Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Must have knowledge/skills using Microsoft office software including (but not limited to) Excel, Teams, etc.
  • Must have at least basic skills in using CAD software (Solidworks is a plus).
  • Must be available for domestic/international travel (limited).
Responsibilities
  • Support New model development activities including Team Feasibility, Design Reviews, APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Parts Approval Process), Shokikan/Gateway preparation and IQC (Initial Quality Control) activities for Quality related functions.
  • Support related departments for new program development and engineering change implementation.
  • Support and interface with Engineering/Design/Manufacturing/QA teams related to new product design/new programs, and product changes.
  • Support Open Issues meetings.
  • Prepare documents and technical information as necessary.
  • Support responses to OEM inquiries through product analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Support program validation (Are You Ready's and Rainbow meetings).
  • Review new program requirements, assuring that mating parts and test leads (terminals, wire and crimping applicators) are available.
  • Support evaluation/development teams and inhouse labs with test leads.
  • Ensure inventories of wires/terminals are maintained.
  • Work with development section to design/quote/fabricate jigs and test fixtures for functional testing (PPAP development).
  • Assist in the procurement for jigs/fixtures.
  • Work to assure timely transfer of jigs & test fixtures to QA lab in mass production including work instructions and training as applicable.
  • Support the PPAP team in the preparation, and completion of PPAPs for new product/process, design changes, capacity tooling, material changes, etc. in accordance with SWS Inspection Standards, customer drawings,AIAG, & industry standards.
  • Provide PPAP team with support as necessary to meet customer due dates.
  • Conduct dimensional measurement and testing analysis, provide formal reports and technical conclusions related to OEM concerns.
  • Follow up on the approval status of documents submitted for customer approvals, including SCRs, Advance Notices, ESERs and PPAPS.
  • Assist with regularly scheduled meetings with the customer contacts at SWSUSA & ECSC/ODC, etc.
  • Complete SCR/Advance Notice activities for design changes and new products/process, additional tools and materials.
  • Communicate with Design/Manufacturing/Engineering regarding issues/customer requests/need for additional information
  • Provide the PPAP and QA Lab groups with technical support related to dimensional/function product testing, testing methods, and technical requirements.
  • Review the QA Inspection Instruction Sheets (QAIIS) as prepared by the PPAP team.
  • Develop a strong understanding ofSWS Inspection Standards, customer prints / industry standards (USCAR, etc).
  • Provide APQP and PPAP preparation support to new and existing suppliers, and new product launch validation (Are You Readys, etc.).
  • Work with procurement and supplier for verification of new material specifications.
  • Support QA Team with QA/PPAP lab equipment:Keyence Vision Systems, OGP Vision System, Optical Comparator, Moisture Analyzer, Force Gages, Instron Tensile Tester, Polarizing Microscope, Nikon Microscope,Melt Flow tester, etc.Troubleshoot lab equipment issues and support acquisition of new equipment as necessary.
  • Other projects as assigned.
