- Test and correct errors and refine database changes.
- Enter code to create production databases.
- Select and enter utility program codes to monitor database performance, including record distribution and available memory.
- Direct programmers and analysts to make changes to the database management system.
- Review and correct programs.
- Answer user questions.
- Confer with coworkers to determine the impact of database changes on other systems and staff costs.
- Modify database programs to improve processing performance through performance tuning.
- Train users when needed.
- Work as part of a team and likely lead the team.
- Collaborate with project managers on a complex legacy-system-to-ERP data conversion project.
- Experience writing spatial queries using Oracle's SDO_Geometry data type.
