  • Ability to build trust and influence without direct authority across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and prioritize in a fast-moving environment.

  • Translate ambiguous business problems into defined use cases, solution hypotheses, and build plans.
  • Determine whether an AI solution is appropriate, including recommending a simpler process change or existing tool when it is more suitable.
  • Design, build, test, and deploy practical AI-enabled solutions, including prompts, skills, agents, automations, and lightweight applications, using approved AI tools, platforms, and enterprise data.
  • Prototype rapidly, put working solutions in front of users, and iterate based on feedback and observed usage.
  • Build and curate a reusable library of prompts, skills, templates, and workflow components.
  • Partner with Data, Analytics and Technology colleagues to transition validated prototypes into supported, production-ready solutions when scale or sensitivity warrants it.
  • Document solution requirements, configurations, operating procedures, and expected outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver the AI training program through workshops, office hours, self-paced content, and role-specific guidance.
  • Create and maintain user-facing documentation, quick-start guides, best practices, and the Upstream AI Hub.
  • Cultivate a network of AI champions across departments to drive adoption within their teams.
  • Share quantified time savings, before-and-after workflows, and lessons learned.
  • Support change management for new AI tools and ways of working.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert for the AI and automation ecosystem.
  • Evaluate emerging AI tools, platforms, and connectors and recommend what to adopt, pilot, or decline.
  • Partner with Data, Analytics and Technology, Finance, and Contracts colleagues on license administration, provisioning, vendor review, cost tracking, and renewal planning for AI tools.
  • Help establish and maintain guardrails for data privacy, protected health information and sensitive-data handling, appropriate use, and human review.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Snowflake, dbt, Power BI, Asana, Google Workspace, and Slack.
  • Working knowledge of APIs, connectors, MCP, or scripting in Python or a similar language.
  • Experience establishing enablement programs, champion networks, or internal knowledge bases.
  • Experience evaluating vendors and managing software licenses, usage tracking, or cost models.
  • Experience partnering with security, privacy, or compliance colleagues to evaluate technology.
  • A point of view on appropriate and inappropriate AI use informed by having shipped successful and unsuccessful solutions.

Upstream USA is a nonprofit that reduces unplanned pregnancies by expanding access to a full range of contraceptive options. It partners with healthcare centers nationwide to improve how reproductive care is delivered and to support patient autonomy and choice. The organization works by training healthcare providers, offering technical resources, and streamlining clinic workflows so patients can receive effective contraceptive care—often during a single visit, including long-acting options like IUDs and implants. It differentiates itself by pursuing large-scale systems changes within the healthcare infrastructure using a data-driven approach to measure impact, ensuring improvements are sustainable beyond initial training. Its goal is to lower the rate of unplanned pregnancies across the United States, thereby expanding life opportunities for individuals to decide if and when to become pregnant.
