Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in an engineering or technical leadership role within the aerospace or defense industry
  • 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role or leading teams of scientists and engineers
  • Experience with cable design, systems architecture, and integration of COTS sensors into larger systems
  • Experience with engineering tools and software, including PENCURV, AFSIM, CAD, MATLAB, or Simulink
  • Knowledge of USAF air-to-ground and air-to-air weapons systems subcomponents and aircraft interfaces, including fuze and warhead, mission computing, outer mold line actuation, seeker or INS, propulsion, production, and flight testing
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering field
Responsibilities
  • Guide our engineering solutions team in delivering cutting-edge systems for USAF air-to-ground and air-to-air weapons
  • Your deep expertise in hardware systems architecture, cable assembly design, electro-mechanical development, mission planning, and cybersecurity in highly classified environments will transform the Air Power Weapons portfolio through innovation and technical excellence
  • Lead engineers in architecting robust hardware and software integrations of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) electronics, oversee development of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), and manage collaborations with partner companies
  • Direct Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) test campaigns, validate system performance under realistic mission conditions, and implement anti-tamper and penetration testing measures
  • Lead design, development, and integration of advanced USAF weapons systems and HITL lab infrastructure
  • Span cable assemblies, COTS sensor interfaces, flight motion simulators, anechoic chambers, scene generators and projectors, data links, RF communications, PNT systems, and high-bandwidth real-time interfaces
  • Lead system architecture development through hands-on involvement in cable design, rack-and-stack computing configurations, interface control documentation, facility management, and calibration processes
  • Plan and execute HITL and SITL test campaigns, leveraging 6-DOF scene generation and sensor fusion to assess system performance under realistic mission conditions
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation of cybersecurity, perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, and lead anti-tamper evaluations
  • Shape mission planning from both weapons and aircraft perspectives, guiding trade studies, analysis of alternatives, and capability assessments to align technical solutions with operational needs
  • Collaborate across disciplines, working closely with partner companies and government clients while mentoring junior engineers and sharing expertise in systems engineering and cybersecurity
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, security assessments, mission briefs, and program status updates for senior leadership and key stakeholders
  • Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure resources are allocated efficiently with respect to program cost, schedule, and technical performance
  • Continuously explore emerging technologies like AI/ML, cloud services, data analytics, modeling and simulation, MBSE, and network collaborative autonomy
  • Take on a pivotal leadership role to enhance warfighter readiness, precision strike capabilities, and mission success through advanced weapon systems solutions
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with DoD simulation environments, including SITL or HITL such as dynamic real-time multispectral scene generation, midcourse or navigation simulation, and datalink or radio communication modeling
  • Experience in weapon-specific cybersecurity measures, including anti-tamper technologies, penetration testing, reverse engineering, and vulnerability assessment
  • Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo or Rhapsody
  • Experience with Network Collaborative Autonomy
  • Experience with cybersecurity frameworks and standards relevant to defense contracting such as NIST SP 800-171 or DoD Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP)
  • Experience with USAF standards, regulations, and acquisition processes
  • Knowledge of advanced technologies such as AI/ML, cloud services, and data warehousing
  • Knowledge of Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) for weapons systems
  • Master’s degree in a STEM field
