Veza provides a cloud-based identity access management platform that helps global enterprises govern who has access to what across multi-cloud and hybrid environments. Its core product, Veza Access Control Platform, catalogs and analyzes authorization metadata through an Authorization Graph to give real-time visibility into access entitlements and potential over-privileged or risky identities. The platform automates identity lifecycle tasks such as provisioning, deprovisioning, and access reviews, reducing administrative overhead and downtime. Veza differentiates itself by offering unified, real-time access control analytics that span diverse systems, enabling centralized governance across the organization. The goal is to help enterprises securely manage access and mitigate identity-related threats at scale through a subscription-based SaaS model.

Veza, an identity security company, has introduced Veza Access Agents, AI-powered tools designed to automate identity and access governance tasks for enterprises. The company has also enhanced its AI Agent Security product to provide visibility and control over third-party AI agents and infrastructure. The platform leverages Veza's Access Graph to manage access across human identities, non-human identities and AI agents. Built on AWS Bedrock, the initial Access Agents include conversational interfaces for surfacing insights, natural language search capabilities and automated access review assistance. Veza has expanded its AI Agent Security features, including enhanced tool discovery, automated agent ownership mapping and AI blast radius visualisation. The company aims to address what it describes as identity challenges in agentic AI adoption. Veza Access Agents are currently available in early access, with general availability planned for the end of Q2 2026.
Non-human identities push identity security into uncharted territory. Enterprises are grappling with an identity attack surface that keeps expanding and slipping out of reach, according to Veza. Permissions growth outstrips oversight Permissions now grow faster than teams can track them. Enterprises often operate with hundreds of millions of active entitlements, each defining what an identity can do in a system. Veza measured more than 230 billion permissions across its dataset. ServiceNow’s $1 billion deal for Veza aims to unify identity governance with workflow automation to control AI agents — a growing challenge for companies deploying AI.
ServiceNow is nearing a deal to acquire security startup Veza for over $1 billion. This acquisition aims to enhance ServiceNow's capabilities in managing access for human users and AI agents. Veza's technology, which maps permissions across data sources, has raised $235 million since 2020 and shares over 250 joint customers with ServiceNow. This move reflects the growing investment in AI infrastructure and the need for improved security as AI adoption expands.
Veza expands Access AI and launches Access AuthZ to unify and automate identity security. Data security platform company Veza Inc. today announced a major expansion of its Access AI platform that extends the power of artificial intelligence to govern and secure all enterprise identities, and also introduced Access AuthZ to automate user provisioning and deprovisioning. The updates to Veza's Access AI solution enable natural language explainability and intuitive query analysis for enterprise identity management. Key features include Access AI for Access Search, Universal Search, Query Explainability and Access Reviews, which simplify oversight and speed up access reviews. With the update, security teams can now write natural language queries via the Query Builder to manage access responsibly. The release seeks to assist enterprises that are embracing AI agents, complex AI data pipelines and large-scale automation. With the release, Veza says it is delivering the first platform designed to protect these new identity types while unifying permissions, authorization data and activity across the enterprise. "Identity is the frontline of cybersecurity and AI agent adoption is multiplying the number of identities that enterprises must control," said co-founder and Chief Executive Tarun Thakur. "With Access AI, Veza gives organizations the intelligence to secure both human and nonhuman identities before attackers can exploit blind spots." The updated Access AI platform is complemented with Veza's new Access AuthZ, which automates user provisioning and deprovisioning initiated from custom apps, legacy identity governance and administration platforms and information technology service management systems. Access AuthZ is designed to help organizations close the "last mile" of access automation with broad support for identity providers, cloud platforms, databases, developer tools and business apps, as well as custom applications using Veza's Open Authorization application programming interface "Write" framework. The updated platform and the launch of Access AuthZ come as Veza has seen strong growth, with the company's platform having processed 20 billion entitlements across more than 300 integrations. Notably, 34% of which were built by customers or third parties through Veza's Open Authorization API. Recent integrations include CyberArk, Oracle HCM, SAP SuccessFactors and Microsoft 365. Veza is a venture capital-backed startup that has raised approximately $235 million over four rounds, including rounds of $108 million in April and $110 million in 2022. Investors in the company include New Enterprise Associates Inc., Accel Partners LP, Google Ventures, True Ventures LP, Norwest Venture Partners LP and Ballistic Ventures. Image: Veza.
