Requirements
  • 10-12 years of systems administration, network engineering, and systems automation experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline (Education can be substituted for 4 years of experience).
  • Candidate should be a proactive self-starter with exceptional follow up skills.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work on individual tasks, as well as team-oriented tasks, to prioritize competing priorities, work under a cross-matrix management structure, required to be on-call and respond in a timely manner, should be a quick learner, must be able to adapt to quickly evolving technology and priority changes, have a desire to work closely with other members of the IT/development team.
  • Experience in conducting assessments at an Enterprise level, reviewing technical documentation, conducting interviews and workshops, identifying gaps, and developing tailored solutions.
  • Experience developing, configuring, and delivering COTS solutions in support of enterprise IT infrastructure design (e.g., network, storage, virtualization, database, 3rd party tools)
  • Experience in assessing Security findings identified by tools like Tenable, Burp, AppScan
  • Firewalls: Cisco 4100 Firepower/Firepower Threat Defense, Cisco Firepower Management Center, IDS/IPS, Juniper SRX/JUNOS
  • Switching: Catalyst 9000 Series switches, Cisco 3850/3750X/3560X, Cisco NX-OS switches
  • Load balancers: F5 LTM/GTM
  • Familiar with: SolarWinds, Wireshark, Splunk
Responsibilities
  • Installs new releases and system upgrades, evaluate and install patches, and resolve network related problems.
  • Perform Network system backups and recovery.
  • Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure network integrity.
  • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Experienced in executing sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Perform a variety of tasks and work under general supervision.
  • Network documentation and VISIO knowledge
  • Analyze Network access trends and resolve bandwidth management issues for mission critical systems.
  • Implement, troubleshoot, monitor, and maintain all aspects LAN/WAN/VPN/ networks for high availability of parallel development, testing and production environments.
  • Review SNMP alerts, use protocol-line analyzers (sniffers) and conduct log forensics to determine root cause analysis and resolution of complex issues.
  • Collaborate with Software and Database Developers, Windows and Linux Server Administrators and Security personnel to analyze requirements, troubleshoot anomalies and determine appropriate firewall configuration implementation.
  • Draft and submit recommended change request proposals necessary for timely mitigation of POA&Ms and CVE findings.
  • Maintain system compliance with DHS\FISMA IT Security and Information Assurance objectives concerning privacy of passenger screening information.
