Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience preferred in shipping, import/export
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Must be tactful, considerate and courteous to all internal and external customers
  • Ability to achieve and deliver a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Excellent PC skills (Word, Excel, creating workbooks, etc.)

Responsibilities
  • Support the import/export department with customs and transportation matters
  • Perform basic order control duties including processing, printing, sorting and tracking customer orders
  • Prepare international export shipping documents including commercial invoices, trade compliance forms, free trade, and certificates of origin ensuring accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures; distribute to appropriate internal customers and pull samples of those documents when requested during compliance audits
  • Troubleshoot any transactional issues that may arise
  • Communicate with internal and external customers
  • Knowledge of the shipping process, which includes cross-training to cover critical roles within the Traffic area
  • Verify commercial invoicing coincides with incoterms
  • Retain detailed and accurate documentation for domestic and international shipping
  • Follow up with freight forwarders to obtain proof of export to meet document retention requirements
  • Import/export declaration filing (APAC/EMEA only)
  • Organize transportation; contact with carriers/brokers
  • Resolve transport complaints
