  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associates degree in engineering or science or equivalent education desired
  • Eight (8) years of experience in operations, startup, construction, maintenance, design, or other relevant work experience
  • Experience in nuclear, high hazard waste treatment facilities, chemical processing, petroleum refining, or industrial facilities
Responsibilities
  • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees
  • Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations
  • Perform activities and meet the goals and objectives established by the facility management organization
  • Represent Plant Management for interfaces with other project organizations on issues affecting operations
  • Review and understand project design and other documents for maintenance and testing impacts, and repair methods
  • Manage corrective action implementation in Contractor Assurance – Corrective Action Management Program (CAMP) regarding preventive action implementation following the identification of human performance cause codes during investigation
  • Manage effective implementation of immediate and/or compensatory actions following identification of events/conditions until causal/root cause analysis may be completed
  • Perform Facility walkdowns to support investigatory needs
  • Identify deficiencies and initiate corrective actions
  • Perform assessments and surveillances
  • Ensure the standards set by the conduct of operations procedures are upheld in the planning and performance of all facility activities
  • Support Shift Operations Manager in timely categorization and notification of Department of Energy occurrence reportable events
  • Act as alternate/backup Occurrence Report Coordinator, including ORPS database use and interface between Department of Energy representative and local facility management
  • Support the conduct of Operations pre-drill briefing with drill team members
  • Support the conduct of Operations Drills in accordance with drill scenario
  • Support the conduct of Operations post drill briefing
  • Support Plant Management with identification of trends, performance indicators, or other data related to the reporting and investigation of events/conditions
  • Support implementation of project wide initiatives affecting plant operations personnel and resources
  • Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work to protect self, others, and the environment
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in industrial investigations, audit/surveillance, or other relevant investigatory or interviewing of management and bargaining unit personnel
  • Knowledge of DOE operating policies, rules and regulations, and knowledge of industry codes and standards
  • Knowledge of root cause or apparent cause analysis
  • Knowledge of DOE O 232.2A, Occurrence Reporting and Processing of Operations information
  • A working knowledge of Conduct of Operations
  • A working knowledge and operation of remote/field/control room systems such as mechanical systems, pumps and fluid systems, electrical systems, cranes and hoists, process jumpers, remote waste handling equipment, power manipulators, and instrumentations
  • Experience with condition reporting and recommendation action development and management in DevonWay or similar software
