  • Provide consultation, leadership and coordination for IT project related activities that address customer’s business needs with current standards and BITS project methodology (8 years)
  • Provide technical consultation, leadership, and coordination for IT-related activities including applications, middleware, databases, and infrastructure (8 years)

Responsibilities
  • Provide architectural and big picture oversight for development of new or enhanced software products.
  • Responsible for ensuring quality and consistency of the software architecture across the system and providing day-to-day technical guidance to the development teams.
  • Define the system, technical, and application architectures for major areas of development and recommend course of action to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness.
  • Stay up-to-date on business initiatives and objectives, particularly as these relate to infrastructure and development architecture issues.
  • Research and implement best practices frameworks/capability models that will control costs, provide higher quality, and/or increase predictability of service delivery.
  • Research new technology and development tools to remain abreast of current and emerging technology.
  • Career-Level position within field. Requires experience and proficiency in discipline. Conducts complex work important to the organization. Works with minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.
  • Lead and coordinate IT project related activities, advise senior level project management in preparing level of effort or budget related estimates, identify risks and mitigation strategies, provide detailed project management reporting.
  • Follow Bureau’s project management methodology and standards, IT best practices, and industry recommended quality improvement guidelines.
  • Work with DHS Division IT representatives, other DHS managers, vendors and consultants to establish and communicate design and architecture standards.
  • Guide and train management and staff towards common, cost-effective solutions that provide the best value to the DHS.
  • Position concurrently manages and participates in high level, high priority and complex projects.
  • Collaborate with state and contract vendors on technical details of large projects
