- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in performing finite element analysis
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics, material properties, and stress analysis
- Proficiency in ANSYS Workbench and Classic, and SpaceClaim
- Ability to program in APDL and to script in Python
- Experience pre- and post-processing of large computational models in a product development environment
- Solid background in performing structural hand calculations
- Experience performing fatigue and fracture analysis in metallic structures
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME) related to structural design and analysis
- Experience using DOE or other statistical methods to efficiently evaluate design spaces and robustness
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally
- Conduct finite element analysis simulations to assess and optimize the performance of SPARC components
- Develop detailed finite element models and meshing strategies
- Perform hand calculations and verification of FEA results
- Collaborate with design and physics teams
- Interpret, analyze, and present calculation results
- Generate comprehensive reports and documentation
- Contribute to tool and workflow development
