Job Description Summary
"The Surgical Technologist administers intra-operative care to patients within the surgical/operating room environment. Care is provided in collaboration with anesthesia, surgeons and other staff members. Under the supervision of the OR RN, Supervisor/Manager/Director, the Surgical Technologist:
• Integrates physiologic, medical, surgical, and anesthetic information to give appropriate patient care.
• Uses the principles of asepsis to assist the surgeon in the maintenance of the sterile field, providing for optimal patient care in the OR
• Effectively functions in the sterile environment, demonstrating knowledge and ability in performing the role of first scrub on all assigned surgical cases.
• Required to take call and must arrive within 30 minutes of being called in.

Job Description
Under generall supervision, the Certified Surgical Technologist II functions as member of the operating room team to prepare sterile supplies and equipment used in the surgical procedures and perform appropriate room duties involved with direct patient care with adherence to established procedural guidelines. This position demonstrates knowledge and skills required to provide care and/or service appropriate to the level of development of patients, with consideration of the needs of patients’ families.
Additional Job Description
Education: High School Graduate or hold a GED certificate preferred. Completion of an approved surgical technologist program required.
Experience: Previous experiencepreferred.
Licenses/Certificates: Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist with the AST is required.BLS required.
