Requirements
  • An Associate of Arts degree in accounting or a related subject plus an additional two years of education or experience in accounting or a related field is required.
  • Candidates actively pursuing a relevant bachelor's degree and within six months of graduation may satisfy the education requirement.
  • The position requires working full-time, 40 hours per week, in person Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
  • Manage resident accounts by researching discrepancies, posting adjustments, reconciling balances, and coordinating oversight with property management staff.
  • Manage collections for former tenants, including payment agreements, bad debt tracking, and refunds.
  • Ensure compliance with state laws regarding notifications to vacated residents.
  • Invoice partner organizations for shared costs.
  • Manage receivable accounts with other housing authorities, including receipting, collections, adjustments, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Generate, review, and reconcile invoices and payments for accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare tenant-related financial reports, including Rent Rolls, Vacancy Loss Journal, Aged Accounts Receivable, and Occupancy Reports.
  • Maintain accurate records and schedules for all accounts receivable activity.
Desired Qualifications
  • Governmental, property management, affordable housing, or nonprofit industry accounting experience is preferred.
