Requirements
  • 4-year degree in Urban/Regional Planning or Civil Engineering, is required, with masters degrees and other studies and certifications appreciated
  • Registration as a Professional Planner or Professional Engineer, or evidence of pursuit of registration, is required
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written) is required. Bilingual English/French is not required but is considered a strong asset
  • Knowledge of transportation planning themes, practices, and guidelines
  • Creative, problem solver, and team player
Responsibilities
  • Champion the completion of transportation designs, plans and policy studies, including the evaluation of alternative planning and engineering solutions to integrated mobility challenges/opportunities
  • Contribute to the completion of larger transportation projects of varying complexity, including corridor studies, environmental assessments, master plans, area studies, etc.
  • Be informed of emerging trends in transportation planning/engineering, including place-making, greening, accessibility, inclusion, and diversity
  • Manage or coordinate the work of other disciplines and firms and work within a team environment
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical report and proposals
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, stakeholders, and the community
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and municipal staff as required
  • Prepare project planning schedules and budgets
  • Contribute to business development activities including networking and developing new client relationships
