Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of experience managing in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, leadership, computer, managerial, analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, coaching, counseling, evaluation, and training skills are required.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures is required.
  • Knowledge of SAP or a similar enterprise resource planning system is required.
  • Understanding of Lean principles and Six Sigma application and usage is required.
  • Ability to implement and execute programs supporting corporate strategy is required.
  • Ability to influence decisions, resolve conflicts, and make timely, confident decisions is required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage supervisors to ensure timely production and compliance with safety, service-level, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Develop and implement methods to improve productivity within payroll and expense budgets.
  • Plan and execute production strategies through cross-functional team leadership.
  • Promote employee development through communication, cross-training, team-based problem solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor production, solve problems, and identify opportunities to meet production goals.
  • Establish and maintain key performance indicators to measure plant performance.
  • Lead projects and kaizen events supporting continuous improvement of the value stream.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and comply with safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or escalate unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Communicate with upper management about production-impacting problems and issues.
  • Evaluate machine resources to maintain production and minimize downtime.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to production capability, tooling, and machine replacement through capital expenditure projects.
  • Coordinate activities responding to customer and market needs with Sales and Marketing.
  • Balance increased productivity with reduced manufacturing costs.
  • Set productivity and project goals for manufacturing supervisors.
  • Develop workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
  • Maintain staffing levels based on workload.
  • Oversee Production Engineering Change Orders and ensure implementation dates are met.
  • Coordinate with Shipping to communicate product readiness and support prompt shipment.
  • Conduct daily planning meetings with production supervisors, scheduling, and warehouse teams.
  • Drive cost-reduction and continuous-improvement projects.
  • Direct team training on policies, procedures, and products.
