Honeywell slides 5% as investor event guidance disappoints after aerospace spin-off

Honeywell shares tumbled roughly 5% to $231 on Tuesday, underperforming all major industrial peers following weak investor reception at its Chicago event. The decline stems partly from the poor debut quarter of spun-off Honeywell Aerospace, now trading as HONA, which prompted UBS to cut its price target. Honeywell's Q2 results showed reported revenue of $9.72 billion, down 6.1% year-over-year due to the aerospace separation. Whilst CEO Vimal Kapur raised full-year adjusted earnings guidance and positioned the company as a "leading pure-play automation company", the complex optics failed to convince investors. Meanwhile, peer 3M rose 1% after delivering a clean earnings beat with 8.2% organic growth in Safety & Industrial and raising its full-year guidance.

Cramer tips Honeywell Aerospace as overlooked winner after three-way split

Honeywell has completed its split into three separate public companies, with Honeywell Technologies retaining the HON ticker and Honeywell Aerospace beginning trading on 29 June. The advanced-materials operation became Solstice Advanced Materials in October 2025. CNBC's Jim Cramer views Honeywell Aerospace as an interesting long-term opportunity, comparing the breakup to General Electric's multi-year split. He suggests targeted companies can eventually achieve higher valuations than their parent conglomerates, though it may take several quarters for markets to recognise this value. Honeywell Technologies reported second-quarter sales of $5.2 billion, up 3% overall and 4% organically. Orders increased 16%, creating a backlog exceeding $20 billion. Building Automation revenues grew 9% on data centre and healthcare demand, whilst Industrial Automation sales rose 4%.
