  • At least 5 years of complex program and project management experience.
  • At least 5 years of managing high-performing teams and programs to meet ambitious goals within the social services sector.
  • Experience in leadership or management roles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt and build relationships with people from many communities and language backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to drive projects from inception to successful completion.
  • Ability to manage multiple long-term and short-term projects.
  • Expertise in project management approaches, methodologies, and implementations.
  • Experience with project management platforms such as Slack, Asana, and Trello.
  • Proficiency with digital tools to facilitate remote collaboration.
  • Connection to or deep knowledge of Asian American communities.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal policies affecting Asian communities.
  • A valid driver's license and dependable access to a vehicle.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and evenings during election season.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Executive Director on strategic leadership, prioritization, and communication.
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner, confidant, and problem-solver for the Executive Director.
  • Propose implementable solutions when immediate issues or needs arise.
  • Elevate strategic decision points while considering organizational goals and team perspectives.
  • Advise on how the Executive Director's time should be dedicated.
  • Work with the Executive Director's executive assistant to manage competing priorities and meeting requests.
  • Accompany or represent the Executive Director at internal and external meetings and ensure timely follow-through.
  • Support organization-wide meetings and efforts to implement the Executive Director's vision and priorities for team culture and operations.
  • Lead and guide the entire staff while directly supervising Senior Directors and program leads.
  • Ensure staff understand their roles in implementing the organization's vision and priorities.
  • Support internal, organization-wide communication by tracking information, drafting talking points or emails, and identifying opportunities for staff engagement.
  • Manage four direct reports consisting of Senior Directors and Directors.
  • Coach and support direct reports in staff management and achievement of program outcomes and organizational values.
  • Present complex management challenges to the Directors' and Executive Teams and assist in resolving personnel matters.
  • Create systems for interdepartmental collaboration and hold department heads accountable for participating in them.
  • Set performance standards, establish measurable goals, and ensure staff accountability.
  • Encourage individual ownership and empower staff through communication and delegation.
  • Work with the Executive Team to hire staff, delegate responsibilities, coordinate internal communication, evaluate performance, support professional growth, and oversee consultants.
  • Use knowledge of the political landscape to inform Senior Program Director planning and campaign execution.
  • Coordinate and conduct regular meetings with program units and cross-functional teams to assess progress and identify challenges.
  • Track progress toward goals and ensure information and decisions flow to and from the Executive Director in a timely and actionable way.
  • Oversee the Programs team's budgets, approve spending, ensure adherence to spending guidelines and deliverables, and adjust goals as necessary.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in policy advocacy, political campaigns, or democracy reform work.
  • Basic skills in an Asian language.
