As an UX Designer supporting Research and Development, you will be responsible for design and development of engaging user experiences for a variety of applications. You’ll studyand evaluate attributes of how users feel about a system; tracking metrics such as ease of use, perception of the value of the system, utility, efficiency in performing tasks, etc. You’llIdentify and translate user needs and business requirements into features and functionality for surgical instrumentation digital interface experiences, like microscopes and ocular video overlays, cataract surgical systems, etc.
Create workflows, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively conceptualizesproduct design intent for user testing.
Create UI specification documentation for hand off to software development teams.
Support UX leads with admin tasks, such as note taking, creating presentation deck graphics, and scheduling stakeholder meetings.
Support UX leads with in gathering and assessinguser insights of existing user research data and support UX staff in conducting new research studies.
Support UX staff in writingcomprehensive and well-documented research findings that deliver meaningful and actionable insights for internal consumption.
Support usability sessions with other UX team members and then perform data analysis of findings to generate actionable reports and outputs for product development.
Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environmentthat thrives on delivering value to our customers.
Ensure that the products we deliver effectively solve the customers’ problems while meeting commercial goals.
Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to internship or co-op, and at least one additional semester following internship or co-op.
Must be pursuing at least a bachelor’s level degree in Human computer interaction, Human Centric Design, Industrial Design or related major.
Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0
Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects)
Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated)
Ability to commit to a full time (40 hrs. per week) Intern position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Efficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Workshop facilitation experience
