- Lead and manage the site calibration program, ensuring all equipment meets accuracy and compliance requirements.
- Ensure 100% on-time calibration execution and adherence to defined calibration intervals.
- Oversee and optimize the use of Calibration Management Systems or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, such as Blue Mountain, GAGEtrak, and SAP PM.
- Partner with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Manufacturing to align calibration strategies with operational needs.
- Manage relationships with external calibration vendors, including selection, performance monitoring, and cost control.
- Review, approve, and ensure compliance of all calibration certificates and records.
- Ensure traceability of all standards to NIST or equivalent governing bodies.
- Lead out-of-tolerance investigations, including impact assessments, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
- Own and maintain audit readiness, supporting FDA, ISO, and customer audits.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures, work instructions, and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization and cost reduction.
- Provide technical leadership and training on calibration practices, compliance expectations, and equipment handling.
- Identify and implement alternative calibration strategies when standard methods are not applicable.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to integrate calibration activities into the Quality Management System.
- Lead individual projects within field service operations and make operational decisions regarding project resources and schedules.
- Manage service contract documentation, installations, service case management, preventive maintenance, retrofit activities, spare-part and inventory management, invoicing, and returns.
- Oversee and coordinate teams to ensure efficient task completion, adherence to processes, team performance, and operational efficiency.
- Follow GxP regulations and standard operating procedures, maintain complete documentation, ensure quality control, complete required training, and contribute to regulatory compliance.
- Work in office and manufacturing floor settings and, when required, in controlled environments such as cleanrooms and laboratories.
- Travel as required for vendor management, audits, or training.
- Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience managing or leading calibration programs or teams is preferred.

The Swiss eyecare company raised its 2026 earnings growth outlook to 12–15% per diluted share, up from 10–13% previously, whilst maintaining its sales growth forecast at 5–7%. The surgical segment generated around $1.6bn in Q2, up 8% year-over-year, whilst vision care brought in approximately $1.2bn, also up 8%. Operating income fell to $11m from $247m last year after Alcon took a $402m pre-tax charge to discontinue intraocular lens programmes acquired from PowerVision in 2019, citing unacceptable patient outcomes. CEO David Endicott attributed the strong performance to recent product launches, including the PanOptix Pro trifocal IOL. Alcon's shares rose approximately 2% to $75.10 in pre-market trading.
Alcon has raised its full-year profit guidance and revised down its tariff impact estimate to $40 million to $90 million, from $100 million to $150 million previously, after anticipating a $60 million refund from the US government. The US represents 45% of the Swiss-American eye care company's net sales. The company now expects its core operating profit margin to rise 90 to 190 basis points in 2026, up from 70 to 170 basis points. Core diluted earnings per share growth guidance was also increased to 12% to 15%, from 10% to 13%. Second-quarter net sales rose to $2.78 billion from $2.58 billion year-on-year, beating analyst expectations. Adjusted earnings per share reached $0.84, surpassing the $0.75 estimate.

Building on the successful launch of the Global Cataract Centre of Excellence in 2024, the new Centre marks the second phase of Aravind & Alcon's Partnership to address one of the most critical gaps in global eye care - access to retina training.
