  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in electronics or assembly preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing or a related field
  • Soldering skills and familiarity with IPC standards
  • Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and calibration procedures; Familiarity with Electrostatic Discharge protocols and IPC standards a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
  • Ability to work independently and lead by example
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Manual dexterity for handling small parts and precise assembly work
  • Ability to lift to 25 lbs regularly
Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced electronics assembly and soldering tasks, including rework and fine-pitch components
  • Use hand tools, soldering equipment, and small parts to assemble the product to exact specifications
  • Operate and maintain specialized equipment and test instruments
  • Diagnoses and troubleshooting assembly and performance issues, making necessary adjustments or repairs
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve recurring issues and refine processes
  • Conduct quality inspections at various stages of the assembly process, ensuring each product meets company and regulatory standards
  • Document assembly activities, test results, and any defects found during testing or assembly
  • Lead in-process inspections and support quality assurance efforts
  • Follow ISO-certified manufacturing processes and adhere to all safety guidelines
  • Support root cause analysis and suggest process improvements
  • Document technical findings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve production issues and implement improvements
  • Mentor and train junior operators on technical procedures and best practices
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and cross-functional teams about production status, equipment needs, and improvement opportunities
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with PCB rework, testing, and repair
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
  • IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification

Halma expands safety portfolio with acquisition of Safetec. Halma plc (HLMA.L), the FTSE 100 constituent specializing in life-saving technology, announced the acquisition of Safetec Srl, an Italian firm specializing in fire and gas safety solutions. The acquisition, finalized today, strengthens Halma's Safety Sector and expands its reach in critical industrial markets. The cash consideration for Safetec is €72.5 million (approximately £63 million), funded from Halma's existing financial resources. Safetec is projected to generate approximately €30 million (approximately £26 million) in revenue for the 12 months ending December 31, 2025. The acquisition is expected to be immediately accretive to Halma's earnings. Safetec, founded in 2003 and based near Milan, Italy, provides customized fire and gas safety solutions for complex industrial projects. Its expertise lies in enabling clients to actively manage risk and adhere to stringent industry standards within sectors such as power generation, oil and gas, and pharmaceuticals.
