Requirements
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in the tech industry; 4+ years of experience in an Architect or Staff Engineer role, with ownership responsibility over large-scale software systems.
  • Strong product sense and a passion for UI and UX product development.
  • Experience building, leading, and architecting full-stack products and systems with broad impact.
  • Experience with Motion and/or prototyping is a big plus.
  • Full-stack engineer who specializes in either Android, iOS, and/or web, factoring in all client platforms in interface design and architecture.
  • Android, prefer experience using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • iOS, prefer experience with Swift and SwiftUI.
  • Web, prefer experience with React or similar javascript-based frameworks.
  • Comfortable with distributed systems, using Java or other programming languages.
  • Extensive experience working with GraphQL and REST APIs.
  • Excellent engineering and coding skills.
  • Solid understanding of client networking, performance, caching, client storage solutions, accessibility, and asynchronous programming.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence non-technical partners such as design, product managers, and the business to develop a unified approach to overall architecture and product/design capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Android, iOS, web, and backend engineers.
  • A proven track record of fostering a culture of Diversity and Belonging, within the organization and across the tech community.
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with other senior leaders to define and drive long-term technical strategy and architecture that enables the company’s future vision.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners such as Product Managers, Experience Designers, and Engineers to design and deliver high-quality products.
  • Establish a technical vision and lead efforts to architect, build, and launch reliable, performant, and scalable solutions for Listing Onboarding and Management products.
  • Provide critical input in team roadmap and technical direction.
  • Influence and collaborate with stakeholders to adopt team goals and roadmaps.
  • Identify areas of improvement and drive best practices.
  • Hands-on development, including design and code reviews.
  • Mentor, guide, and support the career growth of individual contributors.

Snappstay Launches Short-Term Rental Platform

SnappStay officially launched its short-term rental platform Friday (March 14).The company aims to compete with other vacation rental platforms by offering a user-friendly interface, a streamlined booking process, and lower fees that enable guests to pay less and property owners to keep more of their earnings, according to a Friday press release.“As a host myself, I saw firsthand the challenges of high service fees cutting into earnings,” SnappStay founder and CEO Patrick Davis said in the release. “We created SnappStay to provide a fair and transparent marketplace where homeowners can maximize their revenue, and travelers can book accommodations without unnecessary costs.”The SnappStay app is now live on the Google Play store and Apple’s App Store, and the platform has listings in New York, Paris, London, Dubai and Sydney, according to the release.Short-term rental platform Airbnb said in February that it is investing in refining its mobile app, streamlining the booking process and offering a more tailored experience.“We want the Airbnb app to be similar to Amazon, in that you only need one place to go,” Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky said Feb. 13 during the company’s quarterly earnings call. “We’re going to start with things adjacent to travel. Airbnb Solicits New Experiences With New Details Of What It Will Offer In Upcoming Relaunch

The secrecy surrounding the official relaunch of Airbnb’s Experiences product is starting to lift.In a sponsored post Tuesday in the email newsletter of tours and activities media and events brand Arival, the short-term rental giant called for operators, guides and experience providers to complete a form showing their interest to be listed on the platform. The company also outlined new features that will be part of its Experiences product, including API integrations, the ability to have co-hosts and team management and simplified listing creation. And the post said the company is welcoming licensed tour guides and attraction-based experiences, but criteria include a maximum group size of 15 and experiences must be fully-guided.
