Requirements
  • Current, active MD or DO license in the state of practice.
  • An active practice in the state of Louisiana.
  • At least 3 years of clinical experience after residency.
  • A primary specialty in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
  • Currently not enrolled in the Medicare Opt-Out program.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the designated collaborating or supervising physician for one or more Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.
  • Review patient charts and clinical documentation in a timely manner to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Maintain collaboration agreements and ensure all required documentation is accurate and up to date according to state regulations.
  • Participate in periodic meetings or case reviews with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to discuss clinical performance, care standards, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Stay informed of state-specific scope-of-practice laws and ensure compliance.
  • Support the organization in maintaining a high standard of patient care through quality-assurance initiatives.
