Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in an information security role, with 4+ years in a lead or manager role
  • Experience with small technology companies navigating the complex security and privacy landscape with limited resources
  • Demonstrated success in developing security programs and policies
  • Familiarity with common information security frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, CCPA, GDPR, NIST-CSF etc. and experience leading companies through compliance processes for any of these standards
  • A strong technical background to leverage in order to recommend solutions and collaborate with our engineering teams, including experience managing cybersecurity for cloud-based software platforms such as AWS and other 3rd party SaaS vendors
  • Strong communication skills, able to convey complex security topics and choices to audiences without a security and privacy background
Responsibilities
  • Develop the security and privacy programs and policies at SPAN to protect the business and our customers
  • Oversee the implementation, maintenance and auditing of our programs ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as ISO 27001, CCPA, and GDPR
  • Stay on top of the evolving threat and regulatory landscapes in the various jurisdictions SPAN is deployed in, ensuring we remain at the leading edge so that our security program is an asset and not a liability
  • Be a security evangelist and expert resource for our teams to foster a culture of security and privacy and ensure it is integrated into our products and processes at every level
  • Lead regular and recurring threat and vulnerability assessments for existing and new products and features
  • Function as the primary liaison to general counsel to ensure contracts appropriately protect SPAN and our customers on matters of information security and compliance
  • Guide the development and regular testing of incidence response, disaster recovery and security testing plans
  • Grow and lead a security team, defining its strategy and direction to best meet SPAN's needs
  • Act as SPAN's security and privacy expert in conversations with customers, partners, regulators, and other third parties
  • Select and manage vendors to augment SPAN's capabilities in the areas of training, incident response, active monitoring and compliance auditing
Desired Qualifications
  • You have worked with an internet of things or other connected hardware product
  • You have relevant security certifications such as: CISM, CISSP, CISA
  • You have hands-on experience testing the security of software products
