The platform enables users to connect with their neighbors, share local news, recommend services, and buy or give away items, functioning like a digital bulletin board for communities. It caters to a diverse audience, including individual users wanting to engage with their neighbors, local businesses seeking to advertise, and public agencies sharing important information. Nextdoor distinguishes itself from other social networks by focusing on local interactions rather than global connections. The company generates revenue mainly through advertising, allowing local businesses to target potential customers in their area, and also offers a premium subscription service for users who want additional features.
